Dear Maureen,

Re: Plot 486

Thank you for your letter dated 28.10.2010.

Unfortunately, I will not be available to attend the EGM and on this particular occasion have decided not to pass on my vote to another person, effectively abstaining. I believe some feedback is appropriate but first it would be sensible to give you my background.

I am an architect with experience of a wide variety of development projects and have taken many high profile (UK & USA) schemes from inception through to planning approval. As a designer, I have extensive experience in all sectors but excel in masterplanning projects by continuing to place emphasis on the importance of community and encouraging local people and all stakeholders to become involved in projects throughout the early design stage.

One thing I have learned is the problems that clients and communities face when there is a lack of ‘shared vision’ and it became clear from my most recent visit to Misol that there is a rising divide in opinion upon the priorities of the Community and how these may (or should) be implemented. I have an invested interest in the future of Misol Park and until I understand ‘where we are going’, I will of course continue abstain from any future voting.

Against that background, I am offering some support to you as President should you wish to take up the challenge of developing a ‘shared community vision’ with the assistance of AEW architects as facilitators. The aim of the community vision process would not only be aimed to develop a shared vision of owners and turn their ideas into practical tangible actions, but also to reflect the immediate and longer term future ambition of residents, owners and stakeholders. I have already started to gain a thorough working knowledge of the Park and I can assist with the development of a robust and flexible strategy for the future to the highest sustainable merit. The aim being to ensure that the services and property values continually improve to deliver the necessary prolonged existence of Misol Park.

There is so much I could write on this particular issue but to conclude, I am not suggesting that pulling together a shared vision is easy. AEW would require assistance from an elected ‘steering group’ (both Spanish and International) to help with issues such as Spanish law and finance. This is a positive opportunity and I genuinely believe that a masterplan is required to give all residents, owners and stakeholders confidence for the future of the Park.

Kindest regards,

Andy  T
